Why does Hushpix use the internet at all?: To download the privacy object detector the first time it is needed, and newer versions of the models, and to buy or restore Pro through Google Play. Google ML Kit also sends diagnostics to Google. Text recognition comes with the app, and covering by hand never needs a connection.
Are blur and pixelation safe?: They can be partly reversed, especially on text. For numbers, names and other text, use a solid cover. With Pro, the export check tells you when text is only pixelated or blurred.
Will it find every private detail?: No. Detection helps, but it can miss things, so look over the whole image before you share it.
Does it remove location data?: Yes. Saving creates a new image without the original’s location or camera details, and the original isn’t changed.
Which phones and languages does it support?: Android 8.0 or later. The app is available in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai. Text recognition reads Chinese, English and many other languages written in the Latin alphabet.
